Perneecie Murfee Marshall, 81, of Henrico, NC died Saturday, June 5, 2010 at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh.

Mrs. Marshall was a native of Halifax County, the daughter of the late Hugh James Murfee and Mary Elma Allen Murfee. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Thomas A. Marshall, Jr. and a son, Hugh James Marshall.

She is survived by three daughters, Dianne M. Carver of Fuquay-Varina, Julie L. Marshall of Greenville, and Tammy Marshall-Gupton of Oxford, NC; five sons, Steven R. Marshall of Chester, VA, Thomas A. Marshall, III of Fountain, NC, Timothy R. Marshall of Midlothian, VA, Linwood Allen Marshall of Youngsville, NC, and Charles V. Marshall of Oxford; fifteen grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; her sister, Lucy E. Murfee of Henrico, NC and four brothers, Horace Murfee of Dunn, Ray Murfee of Halifax, Ernest Murfee of Richmond, VA, and James Murfee of Tarboro.

Askew Funeral & Cremation Services in Roanoke Rapids is handling the arrangements, where the family will receive friends on Thursday, June 10, 2010 from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 11, 2010 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Randy Bridges officiating. Interment will follow at Cedarwood Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids.
